چکیده
Abstract In this study, conducted at the Research Station of Wrocław University Environmental and Life Sciences, Poland, we sought to determine communities weed species their temporal occurrence in a young apple orchard mulched with spent mushroom compost or Miscanthus straw applied tree rows. A herbicide fallow treatment was used as control. During first year application, both organic mulches protected against germination seeds stored within soil. subsequent years, however, annual weeds occurred rows, most aggressive which Chenopodium album L. Annual increases population densities were noted over 4 years research, particularly rows receiving compost. Perennial family Poaceae genus Malva present soil mulches. Trifolium repens perennial often mulch, whereas Taraxacum officinale Web. more characteristic Commencing from spring third following planting, infestation associated similar that observed fallow, thus necessitating three applications further maintain orchard. The insufficient suppression obtained mulch precludes its recommendation an effective management system. Although provided extended row protection infestation, intervention also required. Notably, despite fact conditions favorable growth, yields fruit quality tended be under investigated systems.

Survey of arthropod assemblages responding to live yeasts in an organic apple orchard
Associations between yeasts and insect herbivores are widespread, and these inter-kingdom interactions play a crucial role in yeast and insect ecology and evolution. We report a survey of insect attraction to live yeast from a community ecology perspective. In the summer of 2013 we screened live yeast cultures of Metschnikowia pulcherrima, M. andauensis, M. hawaiiensis, M. lopburiensis, and Cry...
متن کاملHow to Plant Apple Trees to Reduce Replant Disease in Apple Orchard: A Study on the Phenolic Acid of the Replanted Apple Orchard
Apple replant disease (ARD) is an important problem in the production of apple. The phenolic acid is one of the causes of ARD. How phenolic acid affects the ARD was not well known. In this study, we analyzed the type, concentration and annual dynamic variation of phenolic acid in soil from three replanted apple orchards using an accelerated solvent extraction system with high performance liquid...

Regular monitoring and assessment of crops is one of the keys to optimal crop production. This research presents the development of a monitoring system called the Crop Monitoring and Assessment Platform (C-MAP). The C-MAP is composed of an image acquisition unit which is an off-the-shelf unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) equipped with a multispectral camera (near-infrared, green, blue), and an imag...
